Decorating Ideas - Vinyl Wall Decals

If you are not able to paint the walls of your new apartment but still want a break from the plain white, take a look at vinyl wall decals.
Decorating Ideas - Vinyl Wall Decals

Most apartments won't let you paint the walls, so you are left to come up with creative ways to personalize your space. Vinyl wall decals are a convenient and low cost way to add your unique style to your new apartment. These are giant stickers that are used to decorate your walls. They come in lots of different sizes and styles, so you are sure to find one you like.

Wall stickers give you the look as if you hand painted on the wall. They are simple to apply, easy to remove and won't ruin the paint. Best of all, they are so simple to use that you can change them up any time you want. They can be applied to the ceiling, used as a headboard, in the living room, even in the bathroom. Where and how you use them are only limited by your imagination.

How To Use Vinyl Wall Decals

  • Clean and prep the wall you want to use. Move the furniture and wipe down the area that the sticker is going to be applied
  • If you like the pattern of the sticker design, pay attention to the way it is laid out. That way you can transfer the design exactly to the wall.
  • Cut around the sticker, leaving a slight boarder. Some decals will come with a clear transfer sheet that is placed on top of the sticker. This is so you can apply the sticky side to the wall in one piece.
  • Apply pressure or use something with a solid straight edge, like a spatula, to press it onto the wall.
  • Slowly peel off the top transfer layer and you're done.
  • If you see any air bubble, simply poke them with a pin and press down.
